Eugene G. Grace Sr., the longtime chairman of Bethlehem Steel who ran the company from 1916 until 1957, began his family office at the steel company in the 1920s. The second generation created their own new pool of wealth through the ownership and sale of the Heintz Manufacturing Company, a steel fabricator. It was after this sale in 1958 that prominent Philadelphian and industrialist Charles B. Grace, Sr. formed Ashbridge Corporation to serve the financial management needs of his family. In 1981, the Grace family office began delegating security selection to outside investment managers while still maintaining responsibility for asset allocation and monitoring of investment performance in-house.

The success of this model for the Grace family led to the formation in 1992 of Ashbridge Investment Management. Ashbridge Investment Management offers Ashbridge Corporation's investment services to a small group of substantial individuals, families and their related non-profit entities. The Grace family is actively involved in the operation of the firm.

Today Ashbridge Investment Management carries forward the Grace family's legacy of preserving and expanding wealth. As a registered investment advisor, we supervise almost $1 billion of assets in customized portfolios for outside private investors. We continue to function as the Grace family office, serving the fifth generation of the family, as well as other investors in the United States and abroad.
